Samuel Bennett age 85 of Canton, GA passed away Friday January 12, 2024. Funeral services are scheduled for 11:00AM Friday January 19, 2024 from the Chapel of Darby Funeral Home. Interment will follow in the Kennesaw Memorial Park in Marietta, GA. Visitation will begin at 1:00PM Wednesday January 17th until 9:00PM, Thursday January 18th until 9:00PM, Friday from 9:00AM until the funeral Hour. Reverend Mike Ware and Reverend Teddy Blanton will officiate.
Mr. Bennett is a veteran of the United States Navy and retired from the Cobb County Fire Department after 27 years of service. He loved his old cars, hunting and blue grass music.
He is survived by his wife of 65 years Shelbia Bennett, Canton, GA, son Sammy (Kim) Bennett, Ball Ground, GA, daughters Kelly (Kenneth) Byess, Ball Ground, GA, Kandis (Michael) Doss, Canton, GA, sister Pauline (Griff) Griffith, AR, 5 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his daughter Alisha Bennett and grandson Kyle Byess.
