Funeral services for Sandra Beland Ferrell, age 83, will be held on Monday, September 16, 2024, from the Darby Funeral Home, Canton, Ga with interment in the Georgia National Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday, September 16, 2024, from 11:00 am – 12:00 pm with Pastor Tim Newby officiating. Interment will follow at Georgia National Cemetery.
Sandra went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, August 27, 2024, from her home in Johns Creek, Ga.
Sandra was born May 4th, 1941, in Chicago, Illinois to the late Clarence H. and Elsa M. Beland. Sandy attended Sarasota High School. She was part of the FFA and the Sarasota Sailor Circus. Many of her achievements came in 1959, she was the Sarasota High School Head Majorette and won the Florida State Twirling Championship. Sandy was awarded Ms. FFA and also won the Sarasota Herald Ms. Mail Away beauty contest. Her early passion was in cosmetology. She married Joseph Ferrell in 1961 and quickly became a supportive military wife. Joe and Sandy were very fortunate and celebrated their 63rd anniversary this past May. She loved Jesus and always took part in church related functions. She was Founder and President of Women's Aglow Fellowship in Bradenton for ten years.
She is survived by Her husband Joseph Ferrell, Sr. of Johns Creek, GA. Her daughter Eva, and husband Christopher Gillett of Canton, GA., Her daughter Tonna, and husband Mark Clark of Lakewood Ranch, FL., Her son Stephen and wife Valerie Ferrell of Canton, GA., her son Joseph Ferrell II of Gleno, OH., Brother Gerald "Gerry" (Diana) Beland of Naples, FL., Sister Ardis Thomas of Bryson City, NC. And 9 wonderful grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren also survive.
