Sara Walters Foster McClure, of Kennesaw, passed away on October 28 at the age of 96. She was born in Toccoa, Georgia on March 2, 1925 and was the eldest of two children of Dr. Cephus and Susie Lee (McNeil) Walters. She graduated form Toccoa High School and Piedmont College where she was a member of the Theta Zeta Phi Society and the Piedmont Chorus. She also was a member of the Glee Club and the Methodist Church Choir, where she was a guest performer on several occasions.

She met her husband of 45 years, Harold Andrew Foster, former U.S. Army Air Corp Master Sergeant at Piedmont College. They married in 1948 in the Toccoa First Methodist Church. They have two children, Marie Foster Roberts and Harold Carter Foster.

Sara dedicated herself to her loving family, her friends and her teaching career that spanned 34 years. She also was a lifelong member of St. Andrew United Methodist Church in Marietta where she was an active member of the Choir and the Out and About Choir.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her sister, Minnie Jean Ward (Raymond), her husband, her second husband Lt. Col Warner D. McClure. She was also preceded in death by a great grand child,
Aubrey Marie Bowden. She is survived by her daughter Marie Roberts (Skip) and her son Carter Foster (Joy), grandson Andy Roberts (Tammy), granddaughter, Michelle Bowden (Jeremy), Heather McLaughlin (Keith) and seven great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to to the St. Andrew United Methodist Church Marietta Georgia.

The Funeral Service will be held at the Darby Funeral Home on Tuesday, November 2, 2021 at 11:00am. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow at Cheatham Hill Memorial Park at 2:00pm in Marietta.
