Sarah Posey Newton

Sarah Posey Newton passed away at her home in Talking Rock, Georgia on September 18th 2026. She was a faithful wife, a loving mother to her two children and many grandchildren and great-grandson, a dedicated teacher to the hundreds of students who entered her classroom doors for thirty-five years, and a strong follower of Christ to those who knew her.

Sarah is survived by her husband, Don, her daughter, Cari Bumgarner, her son, Daniel Newton, grandchildren, Mason Bumgarner, Mackenzie Bumgarner, Huck Newton, Reagan Newton, Beau Newton, Boone Newton and Shep Newton, one great-grandson, Ezra, a sister, Sandra Clark, a cousin raised as a brother, Lamar Moore, a brother in law, Marc Newton, many nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents, Quincey and Grace Posey and sister, Sue Griffin.

A Celebration of Life service will be held at Revolution Church, Jasper, Georgia on Saturday, October 24th 2026 at 11:00.
