Sharon Hathaway passed away peacefully surrounded by the love of her family on Tuesday, May 19, 2026. Born on September 17, 1941, in Shelbyville, Indiana, she was the daughter of Edgar and Rita Lefler.

Sharon was a devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend who loved her family deeply. She shared many happy years with her late husband, Paul Hathaway, traveling in their camper, visiting the beach, and spending time at their lake house.

Before retirement, Sharon worked for the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA). In her free time, she enjoyed reading, crocheting, crafting, and playing Chicken Foot with family and friends. She was known for her giving heart, kindness, and the love she showed to everyone around her.

She is survived by her children, Michael and Cindy; seven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and her siblings.

Sharon will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew her.

Ms. Sharon will be laid to rest at Georgia National Cemetery with a private graveside service.
