Obituary

Surrounded by her children and grandchildren, Sharon Numikoski Krulac passed peacefully in her sleep on October 31, 2026 in Canton, Georgia, leaving her earthly body for a greater place, but remaining forever in our hearts.

Born on January 3, 1945 to Frank and Ruth Bengston Numikoski in Ishpeming, Michigan, Sharon attended Negaunee High School, graduating in the class of 1963.

She met her beloved husband Dennis F. Krulac while he was in the Air Force, stationed at KI Sawyer AFB in Gwinn, Michigan. They were married on June 27, 1964 and inseparable for 62 years.

The couple moved to Illinois, Tennessee and Indiana before settling down in Atlanta where Sharon worked for Specialty Foods for 20 years prior to retiring. They built the rest of their lives together on a foundation of unconditional love, raising four strong-willed, adoring children and an abundance of loving grandchildren.

Always the first to crack a joke or strike up the chorus to ‘Okie from Muskogee’ or ‘In Spite Of Ourselves', Sharon was the glue that kept her family together. Gentle-hearted, but tough as nails, she was the determined matriarch of a large and still growing family whom she loved above all else – even more than chocolate kisses and jellybeans.

Sharon will be remembered for her endearing kindness; for her seamless ability to bring loved ones from every phase of life and across the country together under one roof to simply be by her side. She took care of the people in her life, always there for those who needed her most with an open door and a fresh cup of coffee.

She leaves behind her husband, Dennis F. Krulac, her siblings, Dale (Dawn) Numikoski and Kay (Mike) Numikoski Lutz and numerous nieces and nephews; her children, Keri Jager (Brian), Dennis T. Krulac (Sonata), Dean Krulac (Melissa) and Kelli Price, all of whom were the pride and loves of her life; as well as her grandchildren Matthew (Lindley) Jager, Anna Beth (Bryan) Stone, Evan Jager, Emily, Meghan and Adam Krulac, Rachel and Alli Price and Alex Nichols, each a collective piece of her own heart – and her great-grandchild, Elowyn Joy Jager, our greatest gift.

On the day before Sharon passed, she sang ‘You Are My Sunshine’ with her sweetheart, surrounded by the people she brought into this world, just before she closed her eyes for the very last time.

Sharon Numikoski Krulac - beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, daughter, woman - you will always be our sunshine.

A funeral service will be held at 8:30 AM on Tuesday, November 10th, in the Chapel of Darby Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Georgia National Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests that memorial donations be made to Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta in honor of Sharon Numikoski Krulac. Donations may be made online at www.choa.org/donors-and-volunteers/tribute-giving
