Steve Blane Brown
Steve Blane Brown, age 61, of Canton, GA, passed away peacefully on Sunday, August 16, 2026, at Northside Hospital Cherokee.
Though his family is experiencing profound sadness and broken hearts, they find comfort in knowing that one of the best men, sweetest husbands, greatest dads and papas, and dearest friends has gone home to be with Jesus. Words cannot fully express the depth of the loss they are feeling at this time.
Steve’s faith in Jesus Christ was incredibly strong and was evident in the way he lived his life. He knew when it was time for him to meet Jesus, and he was ready, without apprehension. Steve was prepared to enter paradise with his Great Creator and to be reunited with those he loved who had gone before him.
The three and a half years following his diagnosis were precious and meaningful years for Steve and his family. He embraced every opportunity to tell the people around him how much he loved them. Steve said more than once that he was thankful to praise his Lord and Savior for what he considered “the best life he could have ever hoped for.” He prayed for bravery and courage, and God blessed him with both to the very end.
His family is beyond grateful for the time they were given with Steve. He shared his huge, generous heart with them every day. Although they would have loved to have more time with him, they trust in God’s plan and know that His timing is forever perfect. It is their prayer that this faith will bring peace and comfort to all who knew and loved Steve.
Steve was a Christian who never hid his salvation. His faith was not simply something he believed; it was something he openly shared and lived. His favorite Scripture was Deuteronomy 31:6:
“Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for your Lord your God goes with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you.”
Steve loved life and had many dear friends. He cherished his time with friends at the lake and on the golf course. But above all, he treasured his service to God and the love he had for his family. His greatest joy was being a husband, father, papa, brother, uncle, and friend.
Steve is survived by his beloved wife, Wanda Carmichael Brown of Canton, GA; his daughters, Whitney (Jordan) Robinson of Canton, GA, and Lauren (Hunter) Berg of Canton, GA; his sister, Sheila Barnes of Canton, GA; his nephew, Shane Barnes of Canton, GA; and his grandchildren, Calla Berg, Julian Robinson, Weston Robinson, Daisy Berg, and Hallie Robinson.
The family will receive friends for visitation at Darby Funeral Home, 480 East Main Street, Canton, GA 30114, on Thursday, August 20, 2026, from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., and Friday, August 21, 2026, from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m.
