Steven Monroe Ruble was born August 29, 1948, in St. Louis, Mo. Steve married the love of his life, Darlene Labrato Ruble in 1975. He bravely fought in the Vietnam War and then started his family in New Orleans, Lo. after becoming a commercial pilot for Delta Airlines in 1978. Steve was a dedicated father to two daughters and one son. At the age of 58, Steve honorably retired from Delta Airlines and began teaching as a special education teacher in Cherokee County until June 2010.  Steve courageously battled an aggressive cancer until December 10, 2010 when he peacefully passed from this life into the next. Steve Ruble was a man that exceeded God's expectations as a son, brother, friend, father and loving husband. His smile and enthusiasm for life inspired us all. May he have blue skies and a strong tail wind on his final flight.
