Obituary

Susan Rowan Watson, age 72, of Canton, Georgia went to be with our Saviour on August 20, 2026.

Susan was born to Jerry and Evie Rowan on November 21, 1953 in Dallas, Texas and was the only girl in the family. She graduated from N. R. Crozier Technical High School in Dallas and was 3rd in her class. She studied special education at Texas Women’s University. She went on to develop a love of real estate and had a successful career in that field in both Texas and Georgia.

Susan was the best host and her holiday meals were always bountiful and delicious. Her lighthearted sense of humor brought happiness to all. She absolutely loved family time and especially game nights. In recent years, she loved to volunteer with her friends at the Westcott to feed children in need. Susan loved animals and gave each one a special name.

As a nurturer, Susan helped to raise her grandsons, Jacob and Jack. She taught them both to read before they even attended pre-school. This led them to be successful lifelong learners and helped them to reach their goals. She was proud to be their Nana. As a mom, she was incredibly accepting and loving. She always knew the right thing to say to bring calm to any situation. She and her late husband, Jack, celebrated forty-six beautiful years of marriage that withstood the test of time.

As a young woman, Susan enjoyed vacations with her brothers and parents. Her favorite places to visit were Colorado and Hawaii. In later years, she enjoyed trips to the beach and crab cakes.

Susan is preceded in death by her father, Jerry Alvin Rowan and husband, Jack Wesley Watson. She is survived by her daughter, Angie Watson Tatum, grandsons Jacob Colin and Jack William Tatum, her mother Evie Elvera Rowan, brothers James Edward Rowan (wife, Samantha Rowan) and Jerry Wayne Rowan (wife, Paula Rowan), nieces Katy Natt, Heather Woodard and Jennifer Parker.
