Tammy Pearl Botts McClarty
July 18, 1959 – October 2, 2026
With broken hearts, we announce the passing of our beloved Tammy Pearl Botts McClarty, who left this world on October 2, 2026, at the age of 67.
Tammy was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, but those words alone could never capture the woman she was.
She was fierce, stubborn, loyal, and full of fire. She was stubborn as a mule, and once Tammy made up her mind, there wasn't much anyone could do to change it. But underneath that toughness was an enormous heart. She would give the shirt off her back, go without so someone she loved didn't have to, and sacrifice anything for her babies.
Tammy shared her life with her loving husband, Charles Botts, and family was at the very center of her world.
She was the proud mother of nine children: Big David, Gene, Misty, Little David, Randy, Sheena, Chris, Monica, and Travis.
Tammy experienced a heartbreak no mother should ever have to endure when her daughter, Sheena, passed away at a young age. She carried that loss with her while continuing to be the strong and fiercely loving Mama her family depended upon.
No matter how old her children became, they were always her babies.
Tammy was a force to be reckoned with, and anyone who knew her knew it. More than a few grown men feared Tammy—and some would quite literally run for their lives when they knew she was coming! She didn't have to be the biggest person in the room to be the toughest. She was fearless, strong-willed, and never afraid to stand her ground, especially when it came to protecting the people she loved. If you messed with one of her babies, you might as well start running.
Her family continued to grow, and Tammy was blessed with 28 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren—and counting. Her greatest legacy isn't something that can be measured in possessions. It can be seen in the generations of family she leaves behind.
If Tammy loved you, she loved you fiercely. She would stand beside you, fight for you, sacrifice for you, and protect you. She could fuss at you, disagree with you, and tell you exactly what she thought—and you never had to wonder where you stood with her. But when life got hard, Tammy was there.
Tammy wasn't perfect, and she never pretended to be. She was real. She was strong. She was hardheaded. She was generous. She was fiercely loyal. And above everything else, she loved her family with everything she had.
Her passing leaves an emptiness that words cannot describe. But a woman like Tammy doesn't simply disappear.
She lives on in her children, her 28 grandchildren, her growing number of great-grandchildren, and in the strength, stubbornness, loyalty, and love she passed down to every generation after her.
She will live on in the stories that begin:
“Do you remember when Mama…”
Those stories will be told for generations.
We will remember the stubbornness that could drive us crazy, the strength that carried us through hard times, the sacrifices we may never fully know she made, and the fierce love that made her Tammy.
“She is clothed with strength and dignity; and she shall rejoice in time to come.”— Proverbs 31:25
Those words describe Tammy beautifully. Strength was woven into who she was, and that strength now lives on in the family she leaves behind.
Stubborn as a mule.Tough as nails.Loyal to the end.And willing to give everything she had for her babies.
That was Tammy Pearl Botts McClarty.
That was our Mama.
And there will never be another one quite like her.
