Thomas Richard Holcombe, age 85, graduate of Yokohama American High School, Yokohama Japan, 1950. Veteran of Korean War, East Point Ga. Police Officer (10 years), Master Sergeant with 81st Army Reserve Combat Engineers (12 years), Ford Motor Company Fire and Safety Engineer 27 years (Ret.)
Husband of 40 years to Wynette White Holcombe (deceased). Tom is survived by brother Walt Holcombe of Elizabeth, Illinois, three children Rick, Diane and Robert, grandfather of six and great grandfather of six. Tom was an avid sportsman. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, golfing, and coaching Pop Warner football. He was a longtime active member of Orange United Methodist Church in Canton, Ga. He was an active Sons of the American Revolution member, a Mason, and a responsible Patriot his whole life.
Visitation will be held at Darby Funeral Home in Canton Ga. from 5-8 p.m. Wednesday June 19. Memorial Service will be held at Orange United Methodist Church Canton, Ga. on Thursday June 20th at 11 a.m. with graveside services following at Big Springs United Methodist Church Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations are to be made to Orange United Methodist Church, 220 Orange Church Circle, Canton, GA 30115. The caring staff of Darby Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
