Obituary for Thomas "T.W." William Stoker
With hearts full of love and gratitude, we celebrate the remarkable life of Thomas William Stoker "T.W." or "Tom"—a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather—who passed away on November 25, 2025, at the age of 89, at his home with loved ones by his side. Tom was born on August 10, 1936, in Coshocton, Ohio, to Rhea Mae Switzer and William Thomas Stoker, and where he grew up and raised his family until moving to Canton, Georgia, in 2017. Tom's life was defined by family, friendship, and passion for the outdoors. Tom also had a strong Christian faith evidenced by his active involvement in his church and dedication to serving his community.

From his earliest days, Tom found joy on the baseball diamond and football field. He played short stop and third base in his youth and later continued his athletic pursuits by playing football during his service in the United States Army. After serving his Country, Tom worked as a coal miner for 29 years, providing a loving and stable home for his family—a testament to his dedication and work ethic.

In February of 1955, Tom and Suzann Nelson, the love of his life, had their first date and have been inseparable since. They married on April 18, 1959, beginning a partnership that spanned 71 years. Together, they shared countless rounds of golf and games of tennis, and watching hours of Ohio State football. Their happiest moments were spent side by side, visiting their children and grandchildren—whether the journey led to Colorado, California, or Georgia.

His love of sports continued throughout his life, as he became an avid golfer and enthusiastic hunter. Whether playing or cheering, Tom's competitive spirit and unwavering loyalty—especially to his beloved Ohio State Buckeyes (O-H-I-O)—were constants that shaped his journey.

With a selfless spirit, unspoken charisma and a gentle presence, Tom inspired those around him leaving a lasting impression on everyone he met. Yet, beneath that calm exterior was a notorious jokester, always ready with a good-natured prank for friends and family-he made you stay on guard ready for the next prank.

Family was always at the heart of who Tom was. He never missed a sporting event for his children, Stephen and Andra, cheering with pride and unwavering support from the sidelines. His legacy lives on through the generations he nurtured and watched grow, laugh, and thrive.

Tom's death preceded his older brother, Robert Henderson. Tom is survived by his beloved wife, Suzann Stoker of Coshocton, Ohio, now residing in Canton, Georgia; his son, Stephen Stoker (Dee) of Roswell, Georgia; his daughter, Andra Rubright of Alpharetta, Georgia; his brother, Charles Richard Stoker of Coshocton, Ohio; five grandchildren—Robbie Palmer, Lexi Palmer (Hayes), Brooke Stoker Parrillo, Tommy Rubright, and Tim Rubright; and nine great-grandchildren—Tripp Rubright, Harper and Lila Hayes, Piper Rubright, Beau and Jack Parrillo, and Ace, McKayla and Ashton Palmer.

Though Tom's presence will be deeply missed, his legacy endures in every story shared, every prank remembered, every memory cherished, and every life shaped by his unwavering love.
