Robertson Towers
May 27, 1949 — Oct 23, 2026
Canton, Georgia
Virginia Grace Robertson Towers, 77 of Canton, Georgia, passed away peacefully last night, Friday, October 23, 2026, surrounded by her family, following an extended illness.
Mrs. Towers was born in Charlotte, North Carolina on May 27, 1949. She met and married Don Towers of Canton, Georgia on December 14, 1968. They shared over 53 wonderful years of marriage. They lived the military life of a Marine family until Don’s retirement in 1972. They settled in Rome, Georgia where they raised their family and were members of First Presbyterian church and devoted many hours to the youth ministry. Mrs. Towers was a member of the Rome Woman’s Club and sold real estate for several years before they relocated.
In 1986, they moved to Canton, Georgia where Mr. Towers had grown up and became members of Canton First Methodist. Mrs. Towers spent 30+ years teaching kindergarten, preschool and in her earlier years Sunday school. She and Mr. Towers were very involved in the youth at Canton First up until she became sick, frequently attending service projects and youth ministry trips. Mrs. Towers was a wonderful Wife, Mother, Grandmother and most recently a Great Grandmother. She enjoyed her church friends coming to visit her, the Hallmark Channel, the Game Show Network, her group of ladies from her assisted living and her family - in no particular order.
Special thanks to her OT Amanda, that became more like a member of the family and Trinity Hospice for taking such good care of her and making her transition as peaceful as possible for all of us.
Mrs. Towers was preceded in death by her husband, Don Towers, her parents James and Judy Robertson, her parents in love Bob and Lane Towers, her brother and sister-in-law Storky and Lane Blalock and her brother and sister-in-law Ed and Sheila Towers.
She is survived by her son D Towers, her daughter Terri (Todd) Davis, her grandchildren Jacob (Kansas) Towers, Emme Davis, Tripp Davis and her great granddaughter Juliette Towers. Brother and sister-in-law Dudley and Lisa Edwards, several nieces and nephews and many great nieces and nephews.
Details for a Celebration of Life are to follow with a private graveside service at Georgia National Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers you may send donations to St Jude Children’s Hospital and Canton First Methodist Church on her behalf.
The caring staff of Darby Funeral Home is honored to serve the family of Mrs. Virginia Grace Robertson Towers.
