Wayne Jesse Abernathy, age 95 of Dawsonville, Georgia, passed away on Friday, May 22, 2026 at his residence.

A graveside service in honor and celebration of the life of Mr. Abernathy will be held at 3:00PM on Sunday, May 31, 2026, at the Old Macedonia Campground Cemetery in Bartow County, Georgia. The Family will receive friends one hour to the service at the graveside. 

Mr. Abernathy is survived by his daughter, Cindy Joy Abernathy of Dawsonville, Georgia; Grandchildren Elijah (Ashley) Anderson, Holly Salazar, Melanie (Jonathan) Henson; Great-grandchildren, Micah Salazar, Lynnleigh Henson, Briggs Henson, and Raven Little; and brother, Phillip Abernathy. He is preceded in death by his wife of 69 years Betty Jane Abernathy. 

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Old Macedonia Cemetery, Inc in Wayne Jesse Abernathy’s Memory.
