William Clyde Abercrombie, age 77, of Jasper, Georgia, passed away peacefully at his residence on Wednesday, February 25, 2026.
Born on August 20, 1948, in Cedar Bluff, Alabama, William was the son of Sherman and Clara Abercrombie. He proudly served his country in the United States Army and was a Vietnam veteran. His service reflected the bravery, dedication, and resilience that would define the rest of his life.
William was known for his quiet strength, steadfast loyalty, and the love he carried for his family. His gentle humor and steady presence brought comfort to all who knew him.
He is survived by his loving wife, Kathy Abercrombie; his son, William Michael Abercrombie of Jasper; and his daughter, Karen (Marty) Childers of Jasper. He also leaves behind his brother, Fred Abercrombie of Marietta; his sister, Bertha Cleveland of Waleska; three cherished grandchildren; and five beloved great grandchildren. His family was his greatest joy, and he took immense pride in each generation.
Private services will be held in accordance with the family's wishes.
William's legacy of honor, love, and integrity will continue to live on in the hearts of all who were blessed to know him. He will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered.
