Bill was a truly special man whose kindness, warmth, and wonderful sense of humor touched the lives of everyone who knew him. He had a gift for making people smile and laugh, and he never missed an opportunity to share a joke or brighten a room with his presence. Whether through a funny story, a kind word, or a simple conversation, Bill had a way of making everyone feel important, valued, and special.

Bill dedicated his life to the service of others. He proudly served his country as a Navy Seabee during the Vietnam War. That duty and honor helped shape the man he would become. He served his community as an Optometrist for over 40 years. He was known for his warm and friendly bedside manner and the incredible way in which he treated his patients and employees. He faithfully served his church as both a Deacon and a Sunday School teacher for many years. Most proudly of all, he served his family as a devoted husband and committed father.

Throughout his life, Bill made countless friendships, many of which lasted a lifetime. To him, friends were more than friends; they were family. He treasured the people who came into his life and made each relationship meaningful.

Above all, Bill deeply loved his family. His wife, children, sisters, brothers, nieces, and nephews held a special place in his heart. His love for them was evident in the way he lived, the time he shared, and the memories he created.

Bill leaves behind a legacy of laughter, kindness, faith, friendship, and love. Though he will be deeply missed, the joy he brought to others and the lives he touched will never be forgotten. His laughter may be silenced, but the smiles he created will live on in the hearts of all who were blessed to know him.

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00AM Saturday November 7 from the Chapel at Darby Funeral Home with the interment to follow in the Georgia National Cemetery at 2:00PM Monday November 9, 2026.
