William Donald "Don" Hall, 86, passed away Tuesday, June 4, 2019. Don was born July 21, 1932 to Ruby and Hoke Hall in Kannapolis, NC, the oldest of three children. He graduated from Eastern Carolina University.

Don served in the U.S. military during the Korean War as a medic. He met his beautiful bride and wife of 62 years, Helen Walter Hall, in his hometown where they were later married.

Don had a long and successful fundraising career. He headed up large capital campaigns for such prestigious eleemosynary organizations as the YMCA, the American Red Cross, Salem Academy and College, the United Methodist Retirement Community and the North Carolina School of the Arts. Apart from his career, Don enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.

Don is survived by his wife, Helen; daughter, Nicole (Scott) Wetherington; grandson, Ivan Wetherington; sister, Frances (Bill) Thor and numerous nieces and nephews. Don was preceded in death by his parents and younger sister, Phyllis Broome.

A gravesite service will be held at 10:00 AM on June 13, 2019 at Georgia National Cemetery, 1080 Veterans Cemetery Rd., Canton, GA, 30114. Family and friends are welcome to join the immediate family at 8:30 am at Darby Funeral Home, 480 East Main Street, Canton, GA 30114 for a processional to the cemetery.
