William "Bill" Mitchell, 73 of Canton, GA passed away Saturday October 11, 2014 at his residence. Funeral services are scheduled for 10:00am Monday October 13, from the Darby Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Horace Richards officiating. Interment will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery in Griffin. The family will receive friends on Sunday from 2:00pm- 6:00pm at Darby Funeral Home. Survivors include daughters, Emma (Jamie) Hlubb, Pulaski, TN; Beth Mitchell, Manchester, GA; brother, Glenn Edward Mitchell, Hampton, GA; sister, Rosemary Maddox, Hampton, GA; special friend, Barbara Holbert, Canton, GA; 2 grandchildren, Grace Hlubb and Cooper Hlubb. Bill retired from Cherokee County after many years of service. He is preceded in death by his wife, Carol Mitchell. The family request that in lieu of flowers that donations be made to the Cherokee County Animal Shelter, 1015 Univeter Rd, Canton, GA 30115.
