Winford Seth Phillips went home to be with the Lord Jesus Christ. He left this world peacefully on October 9, 2025, in his home in Lathemtown, Georgia surrounded by his family.

The family will receive friends on Monday, October 13, 2025, from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Darby Funeral Home, with a short service at 2:00 PM in the chapel. A graveside service to follow at 2:30 PM in the cemetery at Oakdale Baptist Church. Rev. Jeff Wilkie, Rev. Mike Ware, and Rev. Steven Sheffield will officiate.

Winford was born in Cumming, Georgia on July 10, 1926. He was preceded in death by his parents, Howard and Myrtie Phillips, his son, Terry Phillips, his two sisters, Montez Kilpatrick and Mozelle Albritton, his two brothers, Rudolph and Leon Phillips, and several nieces and nephews also preceded in death.

He is survived by his wife of 69 years, Clara Manous Phillips, daughters, Dana Phillips of Canton and Christie Bagwell of Dawsonville, and grandson, Brady Bagwell of Dawsonville. He is also survived by his two sisters, Sue Bell of Canton and Brenda White of Woodstock. Brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, and 19 nieces and nephews survive.
