Winton Lewis Robinson, known to his many friends as "Robbie", passed away peacefully on December 5, 2025, at his home in Waleska, Georgia, at the age of 84. Born on October 10, 1941, in Carrollton, Georgia, Winton was a beloved member of his community and a dedicated family man. His life spanned over eight decades, filled with love, adventure, and commitment to those he held dear.
Winton was the son of Marion Lewis and Bertha Robinson, who instilled in him the values of hard work and kindness. He was preceded in death by his brother, Howard, and sister-in-law Charlene Robinson.
Winton's legacy lives on through his loving wife of 60 years, Glenda (O'Shields) Robinson, whom he married on December 24, 1965, in Smyrna, Georgia. Together, they forged a life filled with joy, laughter, and unwavering support for one another.
Winton proudly served his country in the United States Navy. Following his military service, he built a successful career as a commercial glass contractor before starting his own commercial contracting business. His work was marked by dedication and craftsmanship, earning him respect and admiration from colleagues and clients alike.
Outside of his professional career, Winton was an avid outdoorsman, passionately pursuing hunting, fishing, and camping. These hobbies allowed him to connect with nature and create memories with family and friends who shared the same interests. In his later years, he took up a new hobby–cheering on his favorite baseball team, the Atlanta Braves.
Winton is survived by His sister, Jean Robinson Davis (Larry), daughter Angela Cagle (David), and son Chris Robinson (Heather). Grandchildren Zach Cagle (Ashley), Jacob Cagle (Taylor), Alyssa Cagle, Samantha Robinson & Makenna Robinson. Great-grandchildren, Chanley Cagle and Paisley Cagle. As well as many nieces and Nephews.
Winton's love and guidance will forever resonate in the hearts of his family, who remember him as a caring and devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and friend.
In this time of sorrow, we remember Winton not only for the life he lived but for the love he gave. His memory will continue to inspire and comfort us, reminding us to cherish each moment and to honor the bonds of family and friendship that he valued so deeply. Rest in peace, Robbie. You will be forever missed but never forgotten.
Visitation will be held on Monday, December 15th, from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Darby Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held at Darby Funeral Home on Tuesday, December 16th, at 12:30 p.m., followed by burial at Georgia National Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be made to the American Cancer Society in his memory.
